Open Whatsapp in the sidebar, under Connect, select Manage, then Disconnect number.
What stops
- New WhatsApp messages no longer reach your inbox and get no reply.
- The catalog sync option disappears from Add source.
- The business profile Sync button disappears from your business info form.
- Message templates are no longer available.
What stays
- Every past WhatsApp conversation stays in Conversations, readable and searchable.
- Catalog products already imported stay in your knowledge base until you delete that source.
- Your website widget is completely unaffected and keeps working.
Cleaning up afterwards
If the catalog is no longer accurate, delete that source in Knowledge Base so the assistant stops recommending products you may no longer sell.
Reconnecting later
Connect the same number again through Link WhatsApp Business Number and it picks up where it left off. Your history is still there. See Connect your WhatsApp Business number.
Moving to a different number
There is no direct swap. Disconnect the current number first, then connect the new one. Conversations from the old number stay in your history but are not carried over to the new one, because they belong to different customers’ chat threads.
If you are leaving entirely
Disconnecting WhatsApp does not close your account or stop your subscription. To cancel, see Upgrade, downgrade or cancel. To remove everything, see Delete your account.
