Everything described here lives in Knowledge Base.
Sources and pages
A source is one thing you added: a website you imported, a PDF you uploaded, a set of common questions you typed. A page is how we measure size. One page = ~500 words. A long article might count as several pages, a short FAQ answer may count as part of a page.
Your plan sets the total number of pages you can store. See What counts as a page.
The six kinds of source
| Source | Use it for |
|---|---|
| About your business | Name, hours, address, what you sell |
| Your website | Any page or your whole site |
| A document | Menus, price lists, brochures, PDFs |
| Common questions | Things people ask you every week |
| Past chats | Old conversations, so the AI picks up your voice |
Statuses
Each source shows one of these:
- Live — Being used in answers now.
- Reading — Text is being imported.
- Queued — Waiting to be processed
- Off — Saved in your account, but not used
- Can’t read — We couldn’t extract the text. See Fix a source that cannot be read.
What makes a good knowledge base
Keep it short, factual, and specific. Include:
- Prices with numbers
- hours with days
- policies with a clear yes or no
