Open Website in the sidebar, under Connect.
Turn it on
The Status card at the top reads The widget is on or The widget is off. Use the switch to change it. This saves straight away, with a confirmation reading “Widget enabled”.
On the free plan you will see “Upgrade to show the widget to visitors”. You can set everything up and customize it, but it stays hidden on your public pages until you move to a paid plan.
Copy your code
Under Install on your site you will find your Embed snippet. It looks like this:
<script async src="https://app.respondhelper.com/api/widget/YOUR_WIDGET_ID/script.js"></script>
Select Copy. The button changes to Copied so you know it worked.
The code is unique to your account. The long string in the middle is your widget ID, which is how we know whose assistant to show. It contains no password and it is fine for it to be visible in your page source.
Paste it into your site
The code goes inside the <head> section of your pages, or just before the closing </body> tag. Both work.
Pick your platform:
Add it once, to a template or header that every page uses, and the bubble appears on your whole site. Do not paste it on each page individually.
Check it worked
Open your website in a new tab and look at the bottom right. You should see the chat bubble. Send it a question to be sure.
If it does not appear
Work through The chat bubble is not showing on my site.
